Because of the unpleasant page in the history of the country, the German censorship is very zealous to the image of the Second World War in Mass Culture, including video games. So it turned out that Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Fully devoted to Nazi aggression, so in Germany had to go to different tricks.

Further – Spoilers from the late game. You are warned.

IN Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus There is a scene where American actors pass the casting to the role in the Nazi film about B. Jea Blassovice. At some point in the frame breaks Adolf Gitler (Adolf Hitler). In the English version (we believe, and in Russian too) all the necessary attributes in their places: the phrases “High Hitler” and “Main Führer”, as well as famous mustaches.

But in German begins creative rethinking. “High Hitler” replaced at Mein Kanzler (“My Chancellor”), and one of the characters instead of Mr. Hitler says “Mein Heiler” (“My Healer”). In general, the name Hitler in the German version omitted.

But most importantly – the leader was shared by vegetation on the face. From this symbol of world evil began to look like a crazy grandfather in a bathrobe. Already semi-dry Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Looks even more easily!

Note that the swastika is also removed in the German version – it was replaced by a certain selection of triangles. In the original Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus The swastika meets extremely often, so developers probably had to work hard for the sake of an abundant option for Germany.
