Sims 4 Relationship Cheats: Complete Guide & Codes

Sims 4 relationship cheats use the ModifyRelationship command entered through the cheat console. Open it with Ctrl+Shift+C (PC), Command+Shift+C (Mac), or all four bumpers simultaneously (console), type testingcheats on, then enter your chosen command with the Sims’ full names swapped in. That covers every case — friendship, romance, pet bonds, and instant introductions.

If the console commands give you trouble, there are two mods — UI Cheats Extension and MC Command Center — that let you do all of this with a few clicks instead. And if you’re building a multi-generational family tree from scratch, dedicated relationship mods handle extended family labels the base game simply can’t set on its own. All of that is covered below.

The Sims 4 Relationship Cheat Codes

Every command below goes into the cheat console after testingcheats on is active. Replace Sim1 and Sim2 with the Sims’ first and last names exactly as they appear in-game — capitalisation matters. The value can be anything from -100 to 100; you’re not locked into the extremes.

Cheat CodeEffect
ModifyRelationship Sim1FirstName Sim1LastName Sim2FirstName Sim2LastName 100 LTR_Friendship_MainMax out friendship between two Sims
ModifyRelationship Sim1FirstName Sim1LastName Sim2FirstName Sim2LastName -100 LTR_Friendship_MainDestroy friendship between two Sims
ModifyRelationship Sim1FirstName Sim1LastName Sim2FirstName Sim2LastName 100 LTR_Romance_MainMax out romantic relationship between two Sims
ModifyRelationship Sim1FirstName Sim1LastName Sim2FirstName Sim2LastName -100 LTR_Romance_MainEliminate romance between two Sims
ModifyRelationship SimFirstName SimLastName PetFirstName PetLastName 100 LTR_SimtoPet_Friendship_MainMax out Sim-to-pet friendship
ModifyRelationship SimFirstName SimLastName PetFirstName PetLastName -100 LTR_SimtoPet_Friendship_MainReset Sim-to-pet friendship to zero
relationship.introduce_sim_to_all_othersIntroduce active Sim to every other Sim in the world
relationships.create_friends_for_simInstantly create a new friendship at 50% progress

One frequently missed detail: relationship.introduce_sim_to_all_others doesn’t set high relationship values — it just removes the “Introduce” gating so you can interact normally without the awkward first-meeting conversation. Pair it with a ModifyRelationship command if you want actual friendship points on top of that.

Owners of the Lovestruck expansion can also cheat the Romance Skill directly. The command Stats.Set_Skill_Level Major_Romance 10 pushes it straight to level 10, which unlocks every seduction interaction and makes flirting succeed far more reliably without the typical rejection risk.

How to Enable Cheats in The Sims 4

The console opens differently depending on your platform, and skipping the testingcheats on step is the single most common reason ModifyRelationship commands silently fail.

  1. PC (Windows): Press Ctrl + Shift + C — a text bar appears at the top of the screen.
  2. Mac: Press Command + Shift + C — same result.
  3. PlayStation / Xbox: Hold all four shoulder buttons (L1 + R1 + L2 + R2 or LB + RB + LT + RT) simultaneously until the console appears.

Type testingcheats on and hit Enter. You should see a confirmation message. After that, paste or type your ModifyRelationship command and press Enter again. The console stays open between commands, so you can chain multiple cheats without reopening it each time.

Fair warning: on console versions, the text input interface is notably slower since you’re using an on-screen keyboard. If you’re running several commands for a large household, the mod approaches below will save you real time.

Useful Interactions for Quick Relationship Changes

Cheats not cooperating? Or maybe you just prefer playing without them but still want to move relationships forward faster than the standard small-talk grind. There are specific interactions that punch well above their weight in terms of relationship gain — and a few players overlook them entirely.

For friendship, the Camera app shortcut is surprisingly effective. Pull out your Sim’s phone, open the Camera app, and choose Take Photo With targeting the other Sim. It generates a meaningful friendship bump in seconds, costs nothing, and can be repeated on the same day without diminishing returns the way some socials can. Ask to Cloudgaze (under Friendly → Deep Thoughts) works similarly — it initiates a shared activity that pushes both Sims’ friendship meters quickly while also keeping them happy.

For romance, the Bold Pick-Up Line interaction (Romantic → Flirtation) is the fastest early-stage romance builder in the game — but only when your Sim has a Confident moodlet active. Without it, the interaction carries a real rejection risk and can actually set romance back. Get the Confident moodlet first through a Mirror (Practice Speech or Give Yourself a Pep Talk), then fire it off.

And for enemies: if you need two Sims to hate each other fast — useful for drama-heavy saves — the Fight! interaction (Mean → Malicious) drops both Sims’ relationship values sharply in a single interaction. No cheat required.

Using UI Cheats Extension for Relationships

UI Cheats Extension turns every relationship bar into a directly editable field. No console. No command syntax. Just right-click and type a number.

Here’s exactly how it works for relationships:

  1. Open your Sim’s Relationship Panel (the panel showing all current connections).
  2. Find the Sim whose relationship you want to change.
  3. Right-click on their portrait.
  4. A menu appears with options to edit the friendship value, edit the romance value, delete the relationship entirely, or remove just the romance bar while keeping friendship.
  5. Type any value between -100 and 100. Zero means acquaintances with no romantic context. Positive values build toward best friends or partners; negative values push toward dislike or enemies.

The mod works as of January 2026 and is maintained by weerbesu on CurseForge and the official Sims modding community. Always check that your installed version matches your current game patch — UI Cheats Extension updates frequently after EA releases new patches, and an outdated version will either not work or cause panel display bugs.

This is genuinely the most beginner-accessible option here. If you’ve never used mods before and the console command approach feels fragile, start with this one.

Using MC Command Center for Relationships

MC Command Center (MCCC) operates at a different level of depth than UI Cheats Extension. Where UI Cheats lets you edit existing relationships, MCCC lets you create, destroy, and restructure them — including relationships with Sims your active household has never met.

To access relationship controls:

  1. Click on any Sim in the world (including NPCs).
  2. Select MC Command Center from the pie menu.
  3. Scroll to the Relationships module.

From there, the options get genuinely powerful. You can force an active friendship or romance with every Sim currently on the lot simultaneously — useful when setting up a large social event and you want everyone pre-acquainted. You can also wipe your Sim’s entire relationship history, which is a useful reset tool for storytelling saves where you want a character to “start over.”

The optional MC WooHoo extension (installed separately from the base MCCC package) adds another layer: it controls WooHoo-related relationship settings including bed-sharing behaviour, nudity rules, and autonomy for romantic interactions. If you’re running a detailed legacy save or a complex storyline with multiple households, MC WooHoo fills gaps that neither the base game nor UI Cheats Extension touches.

One practical note on MCCC’s complexity: the module structure can feel overwhelming at first because it covers almost every system in the game, not just relationships. A useful shortcut — when you’re in the Relationships submenu, ignore everything in the MC Pregnancy and MC Population tabs entirely unless those are specifically what you need. The relationship-relevant options are contained in their own section and don’t require you to understand the rest of the mod.

Setting Extended Family Relationships with Mods

The base game handles nuclear family relationships (parents, siblings, children) reasonably well through CAS and in-game progression, but extended family labels — grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles, step-relations, godparents — aren’t assignable without external tools. If you’re building a multi-generational family from scratch in CAS, those relationship types simply won’t exist until the game naturally generates them over time.

Two mods solve this in different ways, depending on what you’re starting with.

Set Family Relationships Mod (by simsmodelsimmer)

Use this when you’ve already created your Sims and just need to define the labels between them. After installing, you can access the Add Family Relationship interaction through three entry points: your Sim’s phone, the social pie menu when directly interacting with another Sim, or the Relationships Panel’s Actions menu.

The full list of assignable relationship types includes:

  • Godchild / Godparent
  • Adopted child / Adoptive parent
  • Mother or father-in-law / Daughter or son-in-law
  • Cousin
  • Aunt or uncle / Niece or nephew
  • Grandparent / Grandchild
  • Great-grandparent / Great-grandchild
  • Great-great-grandparent / Great-great-grandchild
  • Half-sibling / Sibling / Step-sibling
  • Step-parent / Step-child
  • Ancestor / Lineal descendant

Every one of those can also be removed, so if you assigned something incorrectly or want to restructure your family tree later, it’s fully reversible.

Life Manager Mod

If your Sim doesn’t yet have an extended family at all, Life Manager can generate one automatically. Select your Sim, open the Life Manager menu, choose Family Tree, and run Generate a Customized Family Tree. The mod creates and populates ancestor relationships randomly — useful as a starting point, though the initial output will almost certainly need some manual adjustments. Re-entering the Family Tree menu after generation lets you edit individual relationship assignments, so treat the auto-generation as a draft rather than a final state.

Between these two mods and the base cheat commands, every type of Sims 4 relationship — from a brand-new friendship to a five-generation family tree — is fully controllable without waiting for the game to build it organically.

Ready to put this into practice? Start with the ModifyRelationship commands for quick friendship and romance tweaks, add UI Cheats Extension if you want a simpler interface, and reach for MCCC or the family relationship mods when your save gets complex enough to need them.
