Sony PlayStation 4 Slim – everything we know

For a very long time, there have been rumors on the Internet about the release of a smaller version of the console from Sony, but only very recently we saw real photos and a lot of evidence that soon we will actually get a smaller version of the PS4. In our material, you will familiarize yourself with all the information currently available about the Sony PlayStation 4 Slim.

Most recently at E3 2016, Microsoft showed us its scaled-down Xbox One S, which boasted an integrated power supply and 40% size reduction, HDR and 4K content support, a new Bluetooth extended range controller in 1TB and 2TB versions. This version turned out to be even smaller than the PS4. It was also officially announced at that show that Sony was working on a faster version of the PS4, codenamed PS4 Neo.

Updated: a more powerful version of the console was presented and it is called the PlayStation Pro.

As you can see in the photo, now there will be no luminous strip, and the buttons for turning on and removing the disc will become mechanical. The size will become smaller. The connectors will retain their position in the groove at the end and on the front panel. The bottom also looks pretty nice with branded button badges.

There is no exact information, but with a probability of 90% we can say that the new version will switch to a new technical process (14 Nm or 16 Nm), which will reduce power consumption, heat dissipation and dimensions. The new version will have to support 4K content.

Also, according to some sources, PS4 Slim and PS4 Neo are one and the same, which is logical, since it will be strange to release 2 consoles at once in a short period of time (Project Scorpio from Microsoft will not be released very soon). According to them, the console will receive a faster processor (frequency will rise from 1.6 GHz to 2.1 GHz), improved graphics, 4K support and accelerated memory.

release date

Invitations to the presentation have already been sent out and it is scheduled for September 7th. It is then that we will find out exactly what kind of product we will receive and its prices and specifications.
