Red Dead Redemption Cheat Codes List
Complete cheat codes list for Red Dead Redemption across all platforms. Unlock infinite money, ammo, weapons, outfits, and more with working codes for base game and Undead Nightmare.
Red Dead Redemption Cheat Codes: Complete List for All Platforms
Every cheat code in Red Dead Redemption works the same way across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch — pause the game, go to Options → Cheats, and type the phrase. You only need to enter each code once; after that, it sits in your cheats menu ready to toggle anytime. Fair warning: the moment you activate a cheat, Achievements and Trophies are disabled for that session. Save beforehand if you care about them.
Below you’ll find every manually entered code, the full Social Club cheat list (now auto-unlocked since Rockstar’s servers went offline), and a clear breakdown of what each cheat actually does — including the money trick for farming $500 indefinitely.
How to Enter Cheats in Red Dead Redemption
The process is identical on every platform:
- Press Start / Options / Menu to pause the game.
- Select Options from the pause menu.
- Choose Cheats.
- Select Enter Cheat Code and type the phrase exactly as shown — capitalisation doesn’t matter, but spelling does.
Once a code is successfully entered, it unlocks permanently in your Cheats list. You can toggle it on or off at any point without re-entering it. This applies to the base game, the Undead Nightmare expansion, and the Game of the Year Edition — the same codes work across all three.
One thing worth noting: the cheat lock on Achievements triggers the instant you toggle any cheat on, not just when you enter the code. So you can have codes unlocked in the menu and still earn trophies, as long as nothing is active.
Money, Ammo, and Invincibility Cheats
These are the codes most people come looking for. The money cheat gives you $500 per use — not a one-time dump. Re-enter The root of all evil, we thank you! as many times as you like and the cash stacks up. Slow, but effective if you’re after a specific purchase.
| Cheat Name | Effect | Code |
|---|---|---|
| Money | Adds $500 to your wallet | The root of all evil, we thank you! |
| Infinite Ammo | Unlimited ammunition for all weapons | Abundance is everywhere |
| Invincibility | John takes no damage | He gives strength to the weak |
| Infinite Dead Eye | Dead Eye meter never depletes | I don’t understand Imnfinity |
| Infinite Horse Stamina | Your horse never tires | Make hay while the sun shines |
| Hic | John becomes drunk | I’m drunk as a skunk and twice as smelly |
The Dead Eye code has a deliberate typo in it — Imnfinity, not Immunity or Infinity. Type it exactly as written or the code won’t register. That catches a lot of people out.
Weapons, Outfits, and Unlock Cheats
Gun Set 1 and Gun Set 2 together cover most of the mid-game arsenal. Gun Set 1 drops the Double-Barrelled Shotgun, Springfield Rifle, and Volcanic Pistol. Gun Set 2 adds the Buffalo Rifle, Fire Bottles, Sawed-Off Shotgun, Schofield Revolver, Semi-Auto Pistol, and Winchester Repeater. Neither replaces gear you already have — they just add anything missing from your inventory.
| Cheat Name | Effect | Code |
|---|---|---|
| Gun Set 1 | Double-Barrelled Shotgun, Springfield Rifle, Volcanic Pistol | It’s my constitutional right |
| Gun Set 2 | Buffalo Rifle, Fire Bottles, Sawed-Off Shotgun, Schofield Revolver, Semi-Auto Pistol, Winchester Repeater | I’m an American. I need guns |
| Gang Chic | Unlocks all gang outfits | Ypu think you tough, Mister? |
| Man in Uniform | Unlocks Bureau, U.S. Army, U.S. Marshall outfits | I love a man in uniform |
| Sharply Dressed Man | Unlocks Gentleman’s Attire and Legend of the West outfits | Don’t you look fine and dandy |
| Lewis and Clark | Unlocks every region on the map | You got yourself a fine pair of eyes |
| Coach | Spawns a stagecoach | Now who put that there? |
| Horse | Spawns a random horse | Beasts and man together |
| Old School | Applies a sepia/old film screen filter | The old ways is the best ways |
| Jack Attack | Play as Jack Marston (base game only, not Undead Nightmare) | Oh my son, my blessed son |
The Gang Chic code also has a deliberate typo — Ypu instead of You. Same deal as the Dead Eye code: type it wrong and nothing happens. Lewis and Clark is arguably the most useful unlock here if you want to skip the early exploration grind entirely.
Honour, Fame, and Bounty Cheats
These codes let you flip your reputation instantly rather than grinding through story decisions. Useful if you want access to specific outfits tied to max honour, or if you’ve made a mess of your bounty level and want a clean slate.
| Cheat Name | Effect | Code |
|---|---|---|
| Good Guy | Sets Honour to maximum | It ain’t pride, it’s honor |
| Famous | Sets Fame to maximum | I am one of them famous fellas |
| Who? | Resets Fame to zero | Humility before the Lord |
| Decrease Bounty | Lowers your current bounty level | They sell souls cheap here |
| Diplomatic Immunity | Removes bounty enforcement entirely | I wish I worked for Uncle Sam |
Diplomatic Immunity is a step beyond just clearing your bounty — lawmen will stop pursuing you altogether while it’s active. Handy when you want to ride through a town you’ve thoroughly antagonised without a fight breaking out every thirty seconds.
Social Club Exclusive Cheats — Now Available Without an Account
Rockstar originally locked a second tier of cheats behind the Social Club service, tied to completing specific online challenges. As of Rockstar’s server shutdown, that system no longer functions — but the cheats didn’t disappear with it. When you connect online now, every Social Club cheat unlocks automatically, no challenges required. You don’t need an active account or any prior progress.
This includes two more weapon sets that substantially expand the late-game loadout. Gun Set 3 adds the Double-Action Revolver, Dynamite, Henry Repeater, High Power Pistol, Pump-Action Shotgun, and Rolling Block Rifle. Gun Set 4 brings the Bolt Action Rifle, Evans Repeater, LeMat Revolver, Mauser Pistol, Semi-Auto Shotgun, and Throwing Knives — making it the most complete single unlock in the game.
| Cheat Name | Effect |
|---|---|
| Bad Guy | Sets Honour to minimum |
| Beastmaster | Animals become friendly and non-hostile |
| Change Weather | Cycles through weather conditions |
| Clear Bounty | Removes your current bounty entirely |
| Dead-Eye Level 1 | Sets Dead Eye to Level 1 (target painting only) |
| Dead-Eye Level 2 | Sets Dead Eye to Level 2 (auto-targeting) |
| Dead-Eye Level 3 | Sets Dead Eye to Level 3 (full manual paint) |
| Donkey Rider | Spawns a donkey as your mount |
| Every Shot Counts | Every bullet fired by anyone — including enemies — kills instantly |
| Gun Set 3 | Double-Action Revolver, Dynamite, Henry Repeater, High Power Pistol, Pump-Action Shotgun, Rolling Block Rifle |
| Gun Set 4 | Bolt Action Rifle, Evans Repeater, LeMat Revolver, Mauser Pistol, Semi-Auto Shotgun, Throwing Knives |
| Guns Blazing | Bullets set targets on fire |
| Increase Bounty | Raises your current bounty level |
| Punchout | Significantly increases melee damage |
| Right to Bear Arms | Every NPC spawns carrying a weapon |
| Rise Up | All NPCs become hostile simultaneously |
| So-So Guy | Resets Honour to neutral |
| Hitchcock | Listed in game data — no confirmed in-game effect |
Every Shot Counts is as chaotic as it sounds. One stray bullet from any direction ends a life — yours included, unless Invincibility is also active. Run both together if you want the carnage without the consequence. Rise Up combined with Right to Bear Arms is a reliable way to turn any settlement into an immediate disaster.
If you’re replaying the game on PC specifically and want to verify these codes are still working as described, everything here was last confirmed in January 2025 against the current PC release. No codes have been reported broken by any update since the game’s PC launch.
