Every cheat code for GTA Vice City is listed below — PC keyboard strings, PlayStation button combos, Xbox inputs, Nintendo Switch sequences, and mobile/Netflix workarounds. A quick note before you start: several cheats were disabled in the 2021 Definitive Edition (Invisible Cars, Big Wheels, Fat Skin, and a handful of others). Those are flagged clearly in each table. If you’re on original PS2/Xbox releases or older PC versions, they still work fine.

One more thing worth knowing upfront: entering any cheat code disables Trophies and Achievements for that session. Save your game first, on a separate file, before touching any of these.

How to Use Cheats in Vice City Without Ruining Your Save

The mechanics of cheat entry are simple enough — but there are some genuinely non-obvious gotchas that trip people up, especially in the Definitive Edition.

On PC: Just type the code directly while playing. No console, no dialog box, no key to press first. The codes aren’t case-sensitive, so aspirine and ASPIRINE both work. You’ll hear a confirmation chime when a cheat activates successfully.

On consoles: Enter button sequences directly from gameplay — not from the pause menu, not from any special mode. Just press the buttons in the correct order at normal speed. Too fast and inputs get dropped; too slow and the sequence resets.

In the Definitive Edition specifically, controller and keyboard inputs are largely cross-compatible. If a PC keyboard code isn’t registering, try the controller sequence for your platform, and vice versa. This quirk is specific to the remaster — the original releases don’t behave this way.

Here’s the part most guides skip: most cheats cannot be deactivated by re-entering the code. You’ll see a “Cheat Deactivated” notification, but community testing consistently shows it doesn’t actually turn anything off — the effect persists until you quit to the main menu or reload a save. Slow Motion in particular is notorious for this. That’s a strong argument for dedicated cheat save files rather than mixing cheats into a normal playthrough.

The Definitive Edition also added one brand-new cheat: Big Head Mode, activated via the Konami code (UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT) followed by the rightmost then bottommost face button on your controller (CIRCLE + X on PlayStation; B + A on Xbox/Switch).

That last combination — armed peds plus riot mode — is the classic Vice City sandbox experience. Fair warning: it can lock up weaker hardware if too many NPCs start firing simultaneously.
