General information about satellites.

In total, the game provides 8 different characters with whom you can travel the world together. Each assistant being in the squad gives the player some kind of temporary special ability. The list of possible satellites is as follows:

2. Robodog Rex. Found in Freeside by the King. Strictly speaking, this dog is not so much a robot as a cyborg. Unfortunately, the dog does not know how to bring cartridges and weapons, but when it is present in the squad, the lying things should be highlighted when examining the area with a scope, binoculars or a camera.

3. Raoul. Ghoul is a repairman. Locked in Black Mountain Prison. Will go with you if you free him. Gives the player as a bonus a decrease in the wear of weapons and armor, i.e. while Raoul is with you, things wear out more slowly. In addition, he can become a repairman with a repair level of 100% (though do not flatter yourself too much, because he will repair only for cash), but for this Raul will have to be excluded from the squadron and sent home, to his native shack (location “Raul’s Hut”, located a little short of Nellis). He is loyal to the Legion and even approves of their methods, however, he will go with the player even if he is not friends with Caesar.

5. Boone. Sniper, on duty at night in Novak, inside the dinosaur statue. To join, you must first complete the task of finding the “killer” of his wife. 7. Arcade Gannon. This is a doctor with glasses, a former enclave member. Now works in Freeside, in an old Mormon fort with Followers of the Apocalypse. He secretly dreams of reviving the Enclave. As in F3, the player can give out his weapons and armor to assistants, and they will use them (with the exception of apparently robots). When giving out factional armor to companions, be careful, because they may refuse to wear it and throw your armor on the ground.

The number of assistants that a player can take with him at the same time does not depend in any way on his characteristics. In any case, you can take one robot and one non-robot with you (that is, taking two people or two robots at the same time will not work). The player’s assistants are immortal (with the exception of the hardcore mode, where they can be killed), in battle they simply lose consciousness and come to life at the end of the battle (with the exception of plot deaths). The assistant who has become unnecessary at any time can be sent home (to where he was originally) or to the presidential suite of the Lucky 38 casino (the player will receive this apartment according to the plot), from where at any time you can call back to the squad.

Bug attention – helpers can be “lost”; it will be considered that they occupy a place in the detachment, but in fact they will not be either with you or at the place of their permanent registration. This is fraught with the fact that you cannot fire the assistant who has become a phantom and take another in his place. If this happens, you can safely reboot, because there are apparently no other ways at the moment.

Each of the assistants has his own quest, after which he improves his characteristics.

Robot ED-E

To activate his quest, come with the robot to the location “Gibson Dump” and talk to the owner of this establishment. After 9 game days, come to the power station “Helios 1” and in a conversation with the scientist there (a member of the “Followers of the Apocalypse”) ask him about Archimedes. After 2 in-game days, talk to the ED-E robot. In the conversation, there will be an offer from the Brotherhood of Steel and Followers of the Apocalypse. If you lead the robot to the first, it will improve the armor, if to the second, it will improve the weapon. One way or another, you will temporarily leave the robot with one or another (do not forget to empty its inventory in advance). In a few days you will be able to pick up the already improved robot in Prim, where it was originally.

Veronica

To start her task, you need to visit certain places with her 3 times. I went once to the McCarran base (Veronica spoke in the scientists’ room in the airport building, where the quest “Don’t grow grass” is taken) and twice to the Van Graf store in Freeside. Ultimately, the beginning of her quest will serve as the desire of Veronica to urgently return to the brotherhood bunker. Return to the bunker, go to Elder McNamara and listen to his conversation with Veronica. Yes … the brotherhood is actually a kirdyk, and the elder needs some more proof. Militant isolationists still believe in their invincibility. Oh well. We’ll have to explain to them that in our time, power armor is no longer a panacea for all ills. Come out with Veronica to the street. There you will learn that evidence can be one of:
1. Pistol “Euclid’s Algorithm” (available from kids chasing rats in Freeside). However, if you have already allocated energy at the “Helios 1” power plant, ignoring Archimedes, then this path will be closed for you.
2. Data from the computer to “Vault 22” (which you are also asked to get on the quest “Don’t grow grass”). If you have already completed the quest “Do not grow the grass”, you will also be in flight.
3. Pulse pistol from the armory in Vault 34.

In general, having taken one of these items, return to the bunker to the elder and listen to his next conversation with Veronica. Yes … why the question was asked to seek proof, if the elder claims that he understands the situation, and if the brotherhood does not change, then it will disappear, but cannot do anything, because it is against the brotherhood code. Veronica is offended, wants to leave the brotherhood – you can agree or dissuade. At the end of the conversation, go back to the garden. On the street you will be greeted by a detachment of paladins, who are unhappy with the fact that Veronica is muddying the waters. In principle, you can settle things with them peacefully (by conversation) … Here is such a strange task.

Cass

Unlike Veronica with Cass, everything is very clear. She wants to take revenge on those who destroyed her caravan. To get the quest, you don’t need to take her there – I don’t know where, so much – I don’t know how much, and so – I don’t know how. Just talk to her and go to the place where her caravan died. In the course of the mission, you will visit three different attack sites on the caravans. In the end, you will find out that behind all this is the “Crimson Caravan” and the Van Graffs. Cass will offer to go and take everyone out of these locations. You can do this, but you can do it the other way. To resolve the issue peacefully, you need to get evidence. One of them is in the safe in the Crimson Caravan office (come there at night when no one is there and break the safe), the other is in the safe in the Van Graffs store in Freeside (there is always someone hanging around, so come insolently with stealth fight). Yes, while you dig in the safes, Cass must be left on the street on the watch, otherwise she will ruin everything. Having obtained the evidence, give it to the NKR chief of the “Mohav outpost”, who promises to deal with the guilty in the future. By the way, from the Van Graffs you can take the task to find and bring Cass to them in the store, where they will spank her (this is by the way a plot version, when the assistant can be killed).

Lily

About her quest. Here in Jacobstown you will have a talk with Dr. Henry. He will offer to visit a local cave and find out why the local night hunters (a mixture of a cat and a snake) suddenly became invisible. He will offer to take Lily as an assistant. Visit the cave and remove the chewed stealth fight from Nightkin’s corpse. Take it to the doctor. It turns out that the animals have become invisible, because they were devoured by stealth battles. Follow Lily’s Stealth Boy Test Experiment Mk. II. Settle up disputes with the Knitkins, who also wanted to “participate” in the experiment (with the skill of speech = 80, you can persuade or just interrupt). At the end of the showdown with the Science = 90 skill, you can additionally give Dr. Henry some smart advice on the direction of his research. The quest itself is completed. I still don’t know any other quests with Lily.

Robodog Rex

Initially, the dog belongs to the King – the leader of the group of the same name located in Freeside, whose members mow under Elvis Presley. The king can be found on the first floor next to the stage (during the day) or on the third in his room (at night). Starting to carry out the King’s assignment and making friends with him, you find out that Rex is out of order and Dr. Henry from Jacobstown can help him. Take your dog to the doctor. He will advise on a brain transplant. You can purchase brains from one of these locations:
1. At the Gibson Scrap Yard;
2. In the Devil’s camp near shelter 3;
3. In the “Fort” (in the main camp of the Legion, where Caesar is).
You can install one of the brains to choose from. The first will improve the damage done to enemies by the dog, the second will increase its speed, the third will increase the armor.

Raoul

The Mexican Raul, turned into a ghoul as a result of a nuclear war, is a long-liver, remembers the pre-war time and can tell a lot about the player. Raoul loves to repair equipment and when his life’s wanderings took him to the New Vegas area, he could not resist the desire to visit the radio station on Mount Black, where he was captured by the Knights and became a technician from captivity. Initially, Raoul is armed with a .44 Magnum revolver. Waiting for the player on Mount Black locked in a cage in a building near the radio station.

I met Raoul during the quest “Madness”. The meaning of the quest is as follows. Climbing the serpentine mountain Black (there is one highway, so you won’t get confused), look into the “Nile Shack” (although this super mutant himself came to me right on the road) and take from him the task to drive / destroy Tabitha. After talking with Neal, continue your way up the mountain. Having reached the top in front of the radio station building (after going through the first floor) on the ground under the stairs to the second floor, raise the key (oddly enough it looks not like a key at all, but like an ordinary stone – such is Tabitha’s joke of humor). Go to the second floor, slap Tabitha (however, there is an opportunity to drive her out by the world – for this, first find and spit Rhonda in the next house – a robot of the “Mr. Handy” class). When you have dealt with Tabitha, free Raoul. Keep in mind – after dealing with Tabitha, the broadcast of the “Black Mountain Radio” will be stopped.

In order to “upgrade” Raoul’s capabilities, you must visit the following places on the map with him and talk to three old men:
1. Ranger Andy in Novak;
2. Corporal Sterling at the campground at McCarran Airport (or Camp of Last Resort depending on progress in the game);
3. You also need to talk to the old man in the hangar in Nellis (who gives the task to raise the sunken B-29).
Each time you visit another of the specified places, Raul will talk to the player and tell the next part of the story about his past life. As a result, you will have a choice – either he will become a more effective fighter, or he will pump his ability to further reduce the wear and tear of your things.

Arcade Gannon

During his quest, he will offer to gather together the five remaining members of the Enclave. To start the quest, you need to be loyal to the Followers of the Apocalypse, not be friends with the Legion and visit several memorable places (each time Arcade must speak to you):
1. RepConn headquarters (the conversation will take place after communicating with the robot guide, if your intelligence is at least 6);
2. Camp McCarran (after talking with Dr. Hildern);
3. The crash site of the rotorcraft;
4. Van Graffs shop in Freeside;
5. Fort of the Legion (upon arriving there Arcade will immediately ask what you forgot here – answer with a phrase like “let’s find out what Caesar is up to, and then we will quickly hit the road”).

In addition, significant progress is required in the passage of the main storyline of the game (the quests “For the Republic”, “Joker: place your bets” must be completed), i.e. in fact, the game should be brought up almost to the final, so there is no point in walking with Arcade at the beginning of the game.

After receiving the quest, you should visit 5 former enclaves and persuade them to “shake the old days” at the end of the game. It:
1. Dr. Henry from Jacobstown (his quest must be completed by this time);
2. Cannibal Johnson from the cave of the same name;
3. Judah Krieger of Westside;
4. Orion Moreno from the location of the same name (his house is on sharecropping plantations);
5. Daisy Whitman – rotorcraft pilot from Novak.

Upon convincing everyone from the list, you will receive a password to the “Bunker of the Remaining” (each will give his part of the password). Arriving there, talk to them at the briefing and decide which side the enclaves should support – the NCR or the Legion (if you choose the first, Orion Moreno will leave the bunker, however, with the skill of eloquence = 80, he can be persuaded to stay, if the second, Cannibal Johnson leaves, this times with ends). In this place, you can also be taught to wear power armor (if you have not previously used a similar opportunity in the Brotherhood of Steel). When you leave the bunker, Arcade will ask you if he should participate in the final bunker or go his own way. If you choose the second option, get the Tesla armor that belonged to the father of Arcade.

At the end of the game, the Enclaves will arrive on the battlefield in a blue helicopter and will do what you told them at the briefing in the bunker.

Boone

To take his task (to find out the details of what happened in Bitter Springs), you need to collect five points of prestige. This can be done by intensely fighting the legion (it is not necessary to complete everything from the list):
1. In camp McCarran it is required to “interrogate with passion” POW Silus;
2. Kill the commander of the legionnaires when you first visit Nipton;
3. Rescuing hostages in Nelson;
4. Rescuing prisoners from Nipton, taken to the Legion camp;
5. Completing the Monorail Mine Mine Spy Quest at Camp McCarran.
In case of progress in the relationship, Boone will speak to you every time. He will eventually suggest visiting Bitter Springs. Come there, listen to the details, stay the night, deal with the legionnaires and get new armor for Boone.
