All Rage 2 Cheats and How to Unlock Them

Rage 2 cheats are purchased from a roaming merchant called Mangoo the Wasteland Wizard — there’s no cheat code input screen. You buy each cheat with in-game currency, then toggle it on or off from the Settings → Cheats menu. There are 8 cheats total, ranging from one-shot kills to Danny Dyer commentary. Fair warning: having any cheat active blocks Achievement and Trophy unlocks for that session.

Every Rage 2 Cheat, What It Does, and What It Costs

Here’s the full cheat list. All eight are available from any Wasteland Wizard location — you don’t need to hunt a specific store for a specific cheat.

Cheat NameEffectCost
Diamond GeezerReplaces the standard commentator with Danny Dyer’s voice2,000
Git GudAll enemies die in a single hit1,000
He’s on FireActivates the NBA Jam announcer as your in-game commentator2,000
Red Barrel RainSpawns a cluster of explosive red barrels directly in front of you2,000
Son of ThorCharges you with electricity that arcs to nearby enemies2,000
Super PhoenixOvercharges the Phoenix vehicle with boosted performance stats1,000
Super WingstickGives the Wingstick unlimited mid-air redirects1,000
Phoenix OverdrivePermanently maximizes the Phoenix’s boost meter2,000

The cheaper cheats — Git Gud, Super Phoenix, Super Wingstick — are solid early picks if you’re cash-strapped. Git Gud in particular makes clearing Ark facilities almost comically fast, which can help if you’re stuck on progression rather than looking for pure chaos.

Where to Find Mangoo the Wasteland Wizard

Mangoo runs a roaming shop — the Wasteland Wizard store — that appears at fixed locations across the map. There are four confirmed spawn points. You only need to visit one; every cheat is available at every location.

  • Broken Tract (eastern section): Look for Mangoo in the eastern portion of the Broken Tract region. This is often the most accessible early-game location since you pass through this area during the main story.
  • The Wilds (northeast corner): Northeast of the Wilds, east of the Dreadwood settlement. If you’ve been doing side content out here, you’ve likely ridden past it without knowing.
  • Sekreto Wetlands (western edge): On the western border of the Sekreto Wetlands, south of the arena. The terrain gets swampy here — follow the road along the edge rather than cutting through the marsh.
  • Sekreto Wetlands (second location): A second store exists further into the Sekreto Wetlands at a separate map point. If the first Sekreto location shows no vendor, check the alternate point northeast of it.

The stores don’t move dynamically mid-session. Each location is a fixed point on the world map — once you find one, it’ll always be there. Mark it with a waypoint and you’re set for any future cheat purchases.

How to Buy Cheats from Mangoo

Pull up your map, fast travel or drive to one of the locations above, and approach Mangoo’s setup. Interacting with the store opens a shop menu that functions like any other vendor in Rage 2 — browse with the D-pad or cursor, select the cheat you want, and confirm the purchase with your in-game currency.

A few practical notes:

  • You buy cheats once. They don’t expire, they don’t reset between sessions, and you can toggle them on or off as many times as you want after purchase.
  • Cheats are account-level unlocks, not save-file-specific. If you restart or load an older save, your purchased cheats should still appear in the menu.
  • Currency comes from looting enemies, opening supply crates, and selling gear. If you’re short on funds, a couple of Ark clears will net you enough to buy the full cheat list — the total cost for all eight sits around 15,000 depending on which version of the list you’re working from.

Activating Cheats Through the Settings Menu

Buying from Mangoo doesn’t automatically turn a cheat on. You need to enable each one manually through the pause menu.

  1. Press the pause button to open the main menu.
  2. Scroll down to Settings.
  3. Within Settings, scroll toward the bottom — the Cheats submenu sits near the end of the options list.
  4. Open Cheats. You’ll see a toggle list of every cheat you’ve purchased.
  5. Flip any toggle to activate or deactivate it. Changes take effect immediately without needing to exit the menu.

The menu remembers what you had active between sessions, so if you left Son of Thor on during your last play, it’ll still be on when you boot the game next time. Worth checking before you go for any Achievement-sensitive content.

What Gets Blocked When Cheats Are On

This is the part most guides bury in a footnote, so it’s worth being direct about it: any active cheat disables Achievement and Trophy unlocks for the entire session. Not just cheats that would obviously trivialize an unlock — all of them. Diamond Geezer, which literally just replaces who’s talking to you, still triggers the block.

The practical implication: if you’re chasing the platinum or full 1000G, run a separate save profile or at least make sure you toggle everything off before attempting anything missable. The game doesn’t warn you in the moment — it just silently blocks the pop. You’ll notice when the unlock doesn’t trigger.

A few other limitations to keep in mind:

  • Git Gud affects all enemy types, including scripted encounters. Some players report inconsistent behavior with armored enemies that have multi-phase takedowns — the one-hit kill fires but the scripted animation still plays out.
  • Red Barrel Rain can damage the Phoenix if you trigger it in a tight space or while moving slowly. Use it at range.
  • Super Wingstick is genuinely overpowered in combination with the upgraded Wingstick ability — community testing suggests it can clear entire enemy groups on mid-difficulty with a single throw.

None of the cheats appear to break story progression or cause save corruption based on reported player experience as of the current patch. But saving before experimenting with Red Barrel Rain in crowded areas is a reasonable habit.

Which Cheats Are Actually Worth Buying First

If you’re working toward a full unlock rather than specifically trying to break the game, the priority order matters since currency is limited early on.

Git Gud (1,000) is the best value cheat in the list — it fundamentally changes the combat pacing and makes exploration much faster. Great if you want to focus on story or you’ve already played through once and want a breezy second run.

Super Wingstick (1,000) has genuine gameplay utility even in a regular playthrough. The Wingstick is already one of the more satisfying weapons; removing the redirect cap makes it a legitimate primary.

Son of Thor (2,000) is the most visually chaotic option. It’s essentially a persistent area-of-effect that rewards aggressive play — run into groups, let the lightning arc. Pairs well with any melee-focused build.

The commentary cheats — Diamond Geezer and He’s on Fire — are fun novelty picks. Danny Dyer’s reactions to combat are genuinely well-recorded and worth hearing at least once. After that, most players toggle them off.

Red Barrel Rain sits in an odd middle spot. Situationally powerful, occasionally funny, but less consistently useful than the combat-focused cheats. Buy it last if you’re budgeting carefully.

Since Achievements are blocked any time a cheat is active, the cleanest approach is to finish your Trophy/Achievement run first, then buy and experiment with the full cheat list on a second playthrough or a separate save. That way Mangoo’s shop becomes a reward rather than a temptation you have to resist mid-run.
