You don’t need to complete Zinyak’s simulation missions to use them. That’s a significant shortcut early on, since Death From Above (superdfa) and Telekinesis (supertk) are normally gated behind mid-game progression.

Complete the story mission “The Pledge”, given by Matt Miller. That’s it. Once you finish it, the Collectible Finder appears in your inventory and marks every collectible in Steelport on the map.
