Assassin’s Creed Mirage: All Three Pages Locations (A Life’s Work Tale of Baghdad)

All three pages for the A Life’s Work Tale of Baghdad are hidden in and around the Observatory in Abbasiyah. The first is behind a barred door you need to unlock via a throwing knife trick, the second floats on the wind near a hanging rug, and the third sits on top of the Observatory itself — reachable only through a specific climbing sequence. Here’s exactly how to find each one without backtracking.

Quick Reference: All Three Page Locations

Before getting into the step-by-step, here’s the short version of where each page is:

  • Page 1 — Inside the barred room adjacent to Al-Mahani’s position, on a table at the top of the interior stairs
  • Page 2 — Floating next to the hanging rug across the corridor from the first building; follows the wind when approached
  • Page 3 — On a table at the summit of the Observatory, next to the large astronomical instrument

Al-Mahani is the NPC who initiates this tale. Stick close to the Observatory complex and you won’t need to wander far — all three pages are within a tight radius of each other.

Page 1: Inside the Barred Room

The door you need is up the small flight of stairs immediately next to Al-Mahani. It’s barred from the inside, which means you can’t just walk through it. The workaround takes maybe thirty seconds once you know it, but it’s easy to overlook if you’re exploring casually.

Go around to the north side of the building. You’ll spot a movable shelf pushed flush against the exterior wall. Slide it all the way to the right until it stops. Climb on top of the shelf — this height matters. From that position, you have a direct sightline through a gap to the door’s interior bar. Equip a Throwing Knife and aim through that gap; the bar is the target. One clean throw knocks it loose and the door opens.

Pass through the now-unbarred door and take the stairs on your right. The first page is sitting on the small table at the top. Pick it up and head back outside.

One thing worth knowing: if you throw the knife before sliding the shelf fully into position, the angle is wrong and you’ll waste the throw. Get the shelf flush right first, then aim.

Page 2: The Rug and the Wind

This one has a small surprise mechanic attached to it — though calling it a surprise is generous, since it’s more of a mild inconvenience the first time it happens.

Step out of the building where you found Page 1 and look right. Across the corridor, there’s a rug hanging from the building opposite. The second page is hovering in the air just to the right of that rug. Walk toward it and the wind immediately catches it and carries it away.

Don’t panic. Just follow it. The page drifts through the air for a short distance and then comes to rest on its own. Walk up to it once it stops moving and collect it normally. There’s no chase mechanic, no timer — it just needs a moment to settle. The whole thing takes maybe fifteen seconds.

Some players get confused here because they assume the page despawned or clipped through geometry. It didn’t. It’s just slightly further down the corridor than where it started.

Page 3: The Observatory Rooftop

This is the one that trips people up the most, and for good reason. There’s no obvious path to the top of the Observatory at first glance — the climbing route is intentionally non-linear and requires using a rope that most players walk straight past.

The sequence breaks down like this:

  1. From Al-Mahani’s position, look up and locate the rope hanging above him. Grab it and use it to swing across to a vertical wood slat on the Observatory’s exterior.
  2. Climb the slat upward. At the top, you’ll see a series of planks jutting from the wall — jump across them to reach a small platform.
  3. That platform has a movable shelf on it. Push the shelf forward toward the wall ahead; it creates a step that lets you reach the next level up.
  4. From there, it’s a straightforward climb to the summit. The third page is on the table next to the large astronomical device at the very top.

The rope near Al-Mahani is the key that most players miss. If you’re trying to free-climb the Observatory exterior from the ground without using it, you’ll hit dead ends — the geometry doesn’t connect cleanly without going through the rope first. Backtrack to Al-Mahani’s spot and look directly overhead before trying anything else.

Also worth noting: the shelf on the mid-level platform only needs to be pushed forward, not repositioned sideways. It’s a one-motion interaction, faster than the shelf puzzle from Page 1.

Completing A Life’s Work Tale of Baghdad

Once all three pages are in your inventory, return to Al-Mahani to hand them over and close out the tale. This is one of two Tales of Baghdad tied to the Abbasiyah territory, so finishing it contributes to your regional completion alongside the broader objectives in that district.

The tale doesn’t have combat requirements or timed segments — it’s purely exploration and light environmental puzzles. Total time from start to finish, assuming you know the locations, is under ten minutes. The climbing route to Page 3 is the longest element by far, and even that takes two or three minutes at most once the rope entry point clicks.

If you’re working through Abbasiyah systematically, this tale pairs cleanly with the other Observatory-adjacent collectibles in the area — several Bureau Favor items and at least one Mysterious Shard are within the same cluster of buildings, so it’s worth sweeping the whole compound while you’re already up on the rooftops.
