In this guide we will tell you how to use the interactive map for Baldur’s Gate 3 and what useful things it marks.
The interactive map of Baldur’s Gate 3 was created by a team of enthusiasts from the Map Genie project, who created it specifically for players. Only on it you can find the exact location of the most important objects and characters in the game world. By using the map, you are guaranteed not to miss secret dungeons, bosses, unique items and other secrets that Baldur’s Gate 3 hides. Below we will tell you what items you should pay attention to first when using the map.
How to use the interactive map for Baldur’s Gate 3
The interactive map was created taking into account the main requirements of Baldur’s Gate 3 players, so it contains information about all the items and key elements of the world. It also has a fairly simple navigation menu and the ability to track your progress in exploring the game world. Below we will tell you how to use the card.
An interactive map for Baldur’s Gate 3 is available on the official project page.
In total, the map includes the display of two regions from the game: Nautiloid and Wildwood. When you go to the main page of the interactive map, you can select the map of which region you want to see. You can freely switch between them using the navigation bar on the left side of the screen in the display area of the map itself. The Wildwood map displays all locations and large transitions between them in the form of separate areas that are dispersed throughout the page. The Baldur’s Gate 3 interactive map displays bosses, chests, unique weapons, merchants, secrets and much more.
On the left side of the Baldur’s Gate 3 interactive map screen is the most important and useful navigation element – the item display panel. With its help you can select the region to display the map. The main navigation bar allows you to choose to display all items (Show all), and also allows you to hide them (Hide all). Below is a separate field for searching for the item you are interested in, where only the original name of the item in English is supported. The panel is further divided into the following categories:
- Locations – where useful items associated with the area are displayed. This could be a staircase, a waypoint, a secret, a passage to another location, or a landmark.
- Pickups – This category contains any items that you can take with you. Books, chests, keys, valuables, tools, scrolls, quest items, and more are displayed here.
- Unique Equipment – The labels in this section only indicate unique items that can be found while exploring the world. These include amulets, armor and weapons.
- Non-Player Characters (NPCs) – Shows the location of important or useful NPCs. The category includes regular characters, merchants, and potential companions for your squad.
- Quests – This category shows where you can find main quests, side quests, and other events.
- Enemies – Bosses and battles with a group of enemies are listed in this section.
- Other – here the marks show the location of traps, levers and doors in the location.
At the top right of the screen there is a menu where you can register or log into your account. This will allow you to track the progress of location exploration in real time and add your own routes. Below in the same part, navigation elements allow you to change the map display scale and build your route.
Each displayed meta on the interactive map can be clicked to see a detailed description of the item. If you click on an item, you will get more information about it, as well as other important information. Chests will have requirements for opening them, if any. Rare items and weapons will receive a short description of how they can be found or obtained in the location indicated on the map. Information will also be available about the characters, indicating their characteristics or goods for sale, if they are a merchant.
