Now you can cancel pre-orders in Steam
In essence, making a preliminary order for a particular game in Steam (as, however, in any other store), people take a cat in a bag. Of course, experienced people before making a decision take into account a number of factors: the reputation of the developer and the publisher, the press opinion, which is formed on the basis of acquaintance with the early version of the project and T. D. But it happens that for some reason you have changed my mind to take the game when the pre-ordered has already been made.
Previously, to return money, Steam clients had to send the appropriate request to support Valve and wait for further consideration. The process, frankly, is very vigorous. But after another internal reform, the situation has changed for the better: now users can independently cancel pre-orders and return money to their accounts (Steam Wallet).
To do this, entering Steam under its account, you should call the Account Information menu. Next, go to the “Operations in the store” tab and select the item “Return Money”, which is located under the cost of active pre-order, and voila – Invested funds are returned to your wallet in Steam. Just keep in mind that you can do these manipulations only with pre-ordered games before their official exit to Steam, which were not given to you or obtained during the exchange process.
